The Wait is Over!

For the past ten days I have been so sad... My parents have been soooo happy....
Guess who has my Prince?
Yep... but the party is over and it's time to send him home.
HOORAY!
GP is coming home tomorrow and I can't wait!
OMG! I think I'm a codependent Mom. Is this normal?
I'm hoarding the only grandson, LOL! I'm bad... oh, well! =)
Ah, sunny beaches and warm weather are way overrated anyway! LOL!

Perhaps this is normal for us parents with special needs children...I feel that way about my Daughter too...

Hi Brenda,

Yes this is perfectly normal. I would be more surprised if you didn't.
I always love getting my precious back (even when its just off the school bus).
BTW thanks for all your advice, it is much valued and appreciated.

Hugs, Sharon

Sending you happy thoughts! I think most mom's feel that way when their children are away.

I think you are so lucky they they took and bonded with him for that week! Seriously...wish my own parents would have made effort to do the same. Mom now says "they don't know her" drives me crazy. We were military and moved alot...there was plenty of opportunity for them to have the boys. I bet he will also be glad to have you back....enjoy...life so short!

that is wonderful you missed your little buddy. I think thats a sign of a wonderful parent! Right now (with my kids so little still) I am looking forward to the day I can send them off to Grandma and Grandpas for a weekend or so, but I know even when I am at work I sort of wish I could see them, give them a hug and kiss or something so I can't actually picture them gone for so long!

It is perfectly normal to miss your baby, I miss my baby and he is 39...... And grand babies, well that is a totally different story. Grand Children are the joy of a granparents heart. We can spoil them rotten and then give them back and I love every minute I am with all my grand kids.

Always fun to have the kidlets back home :o) My parents sometimes take our extra-special bundle for an overnight so that the other girls and I can have some play time to do the activities that are too much for A. Always feels funny because I would rather have her with me. But the other girls need some hiking/biking/skiing/hanging with friends time once in a while, too. Glad you have your boy home again :o)
