What would you do with a wonderful clay pot that bit the dirt??? Would you say, "Oh well" and turn it to the other side? Would you pretend you can't see the chip? Please don't tell me you would toss that baby. At the very least you could pull out your kids' stamps and stamp on some stars... right?
As soon as you tell me what else you would do to your broken pot I'll show you what I did with mine. And if you don't tell me, I wont tell you...'cause I'm like that; I'm into blogger participation, LOL!

um...sorry...i have to be truthful..i would chuck it..
I certainly wouldn't through it out! I'd either turn it around if it was that bad or I'd put an arrangement in it after I painted it or something! Like what I see so far of yours ;-)

Nope... I probably would have left it, as is and continued using it! LOL
Or.... cleaned it up and used it for pencils and pens and/or paint brushes.

I have a hard time "chucking" anything. Just ask my husband. LOL! I might turn it around or I'd paint the knick or I might sit a critter where the chip is or drape the plant over the spot so you don't even know it's there. Now can we see your pot?
You know how cheap I am, so I would just turn it around (if I even go to the trouble to do that!). Yup. I would squint the eyes and I would not see the chip.
If it did not bother me too much, I would turn it around. If it did bother me, I would do one of two things. First I would add/glue shells or glass, especially if it was on the rim. Or I would break it into little pieces and use it for drainage for my other pots. Your blue pot with red stars looks wonderful.
Chip???? What chip??? I'd ignore it until it crumbled into little pieces. Then I would use it for the bottom of the pot to help the water flow for my new pot.
I'd never chuck it for a chip! I saw a garden where pots were turned on their sides and dirt made to spill out of them and hens & chicks growing there like the pot fell and the plants grew that way. I'd take the pot with a chip and lay it on the chipped side and do that technique.
I'd put it on it's side in the garden and plant something coming out of it. Or maybe take some air-dry clay and shape a fancy top to go around it. Or make a 'basket' out of it by putting a clay or viney handle over the top. Or, or, or...
Paint it pretty. Fill it with rocks and a pillar candle!
I would have left it the way it was. I'm into primitives and grunge! What's a little chip amongst friends? Adds to the ambiance I would think.
A little chip wouldn't bother me. I might turn it around but that's it! I like the idea of putting it on its side and have plants spilling out. I've actually done that with impatiens, it looked really nice.
Uhm, I threw it out, lol.
Mine were left out this winter and the temp changes cracked them from the bottom, so they were useless.
