PatchAbilities does it again!

I just received the new PatchAbilities patterns that were released during Spring Market and my weekend was thrown completely off course. You know I had planned on doing all that "fun" piecing this weekend...well, once I had seen the patterns (which I ordered sight unseen as I KNOW I will love them!) I just had to make the patriotic Bless America quilt for Memorial Day, Hello! Oh, but since this is such a fast project I did make one to share...see, I wouldn't have been able to make two pieced projects in one weekend. My change of plans was "in the spirit of sharing"....LOL! Here's the cutie I'm mailing off today; Thought you'd all like a peek!

Bring out the Red, White and Blue!

I am hereby announcing my intention to complete this project, this weekend! Tada! This is a new release by Bloom Creek Designs, Let Freedom Ring.
I was looking for something Red, White and Blue to kick off the Memorial Day Weekend and the new patterns arrived. It was a "sign"...I just know it! LOL!!!I have been hoarding Charm squares for a long time (don't ask, I just love them) so I will try to trim down the stash by making a few charm projects this Summer.
Never a piecing fan, I am committed to putting those little guys into something more than just eye candy. Not an easy statement to make when just thinking of piecing gives me hives...no kidding...I'm scratching as I write. But now that I've committed to it, I will do it. Wish me luck and come back to check on my completed project!

Garden Whimsies!

I love Spring...Spring Market! It's that time again when a new breath of inspiration is released and our favorite designers finally reveal what they have been up to all Winter long. This is my First Spring Sample, Garden Whimsies. It just made its debut at Spring Market and as soon as the patterns arrived I just had to make it. I actually made TWO of these, this weekend! One to keep and one to share; somebody is going to be very happy this week when she receives this one in the mail...I love sharing my cuties!

A Charming Bouquet for me!

Look what I made, a little Bouquet of flowers from Hemming House Charm squares. I have wanted to make this cutie (only 14" sq.) for a long time but those flying geese blocks on the border were just too complicated looking for my "beginner" skill level. Well, I bit the bullet as they say and was pleasantly surprised to find they were no harder than making half square triangles. It is worth noting though, that I did not stress about the points matching up perfectly to the edge of the border...but all things considered, I think I did a pretty spiffy job, if I must say so myself! LOL!!! Oh, and I hand quilted it, in the ditch, all in an afternoon! Can you believe it?! Woo-HOO!!!
