Settler's Pride BOM, Still in Progress!

I've made some progress, I have.
I've completed the three levels of grass, the cabin, the logs, the door, the flower's stem, and now I'm working on the fence. See??? Told Ya!
I think I'm lovin' this block. Well, now that I'm at least half way done I'm warming up to it, LOL!
I feel like the little engine that could, "I know I can, I know I can..."
Maybe I'll hav it done by the end of the week; who knows?
Stay tuned!

A New Kit...Almost Ready...

Almost a whole week and this is all I have to show for my efforts...how sad is that?
Well, It was a crappy week, what can I say? LOL! Seriously, ever have one of those darn weeks when you take one step forward and two steps back? That was my week in a nutshell. As things began to brighten up...GP took ill. Hello?! Instead of having a long weekend of crafting bliss GP decides (Yes, he did it on purpose! I told him to keep his hands in his pockets when he stepped outside our germ free home, I told him! What was he thinking holding on to the handrail on the escalator? EWWW!) Anyway... there you have it, a germ riddled kid in my house. A sure sign that there will no crafting, painting, sewing or even resting in this place until the long weekend is a thing of the past. =(

I had high hopes for this great loooong weekned. I was counting the days till I had three afternoons of ME time...but it was not meant to be. Instead I was nursing the germ-y one, LOL! I'd give you details but it might be TMI, and it "might" gross you out, just a tad.

Anyway, I did manage to trace and cut two sets of applique pieces for an upcoming kit. I am cutting the kits as I find the perfect fabrics and decide what to use where. You know how that is, the right fabric for the right spot... I'll see if I can get it done before the weekend.
Did I mention I had a car accident too? Hello!? I told you I had a crappy weekend! yes, I slammed into a car that decided she should park behind me as I was pulling out of a spot at the Nashua Post Office. After I finished all the paperwork I called Gino and told him that I am trading in the Murano for a Hummer...because if I'm going to have to do so much paperwork and listen to so much whining (from the other driver who just happened to decide to park her little car behind my big fat truck) I might as well make sure I cause some serious damage...and I mean, like I should just freakin' total her car, LOL!
Seriously folks, the policeman told her the damage to the vehicles was too minor to file a report and the woman almost broke into tears... I wanted to say, "Maam, I'm sorry I didn't hit you hard enough to file a police report!" My bumper has a ding...and GP was in the car and didn't even notice. Yeah. I just love a good drama. Anyway, he noted our insurance information and sent us on our merry way. I expect a call from an injury attorney any day now...whiplash or something. And THEN I'm getting a Hummer! No more fender benders for me!

I'm Alive!

And I'm working on some great new projects. I had to take some "Mental Health" days because I was beginning to loose my mind. A note to all: the first sign that you are losing your mind is when you start to take life WAY too seriously. Remember, if you are healthy and your kids are safe at home...what could possibly be that bad? Hello!
Anyway, I am on the mend. Or so I think. I might have to take another mental health holiday if my thermostat doesn't hit forty soon! But that's another story.
So here's one of the projects I am working on.It's a runner~ a big fat one...I have to say that it will be perfect for a big coffee table, ahem!
I'll have you all know that TChoco (my non-quilter sister) was taught to rotary cut and did all the stripping for this one. She also helped with all the applique pieces (tracing and cutting all the pieces and matching all the flowers...) oh wait till you see it, it's the bomb! (OOps, did I date myself? Do people still say that? Should I have said,"It's fierce?" HMMM...I need to keep up with the times, better check on my euphemisms... they might be outdated, LOL!
Anyway, I already did half of the binding and half of the quilting. Once I finish all the quilting I'll put the applique on and Whala, off to TX! I'm so excited! oh, take a look at the flowers....they are so cute!So there you go... what'cha think? The pics are crummy but you know...
I try! More to follow....
I just realized I didn't tell you that I was in TX and all the fabrics in the top were snatched from Sandy's stash. I bought the pattern at the Quilt Show she took me to and will soon carry it in my shoppe. It is so easy, even I could piece it, LOL! Oh and Sandy, thanks for allowing me to raid your stash... you're the best!

I'm Working Here!

Yes, I did say I was "moving on" to the next project but I bet you thought I meant "later". Well, I'll have you know that I am on a piecing roll ...see that pieced border right there? "How'd ya' like them apples? " Pretty spiffy , if I should say so myself, LOL! But NO, I will not divulge how long it took me to make that little quilt because I am not your average quilter. I have special piecing disabilities. I shall call myself, "piecing impaired", LOL! I included the scissor in the picture so you could see the actual size of that baby....yes, it really is that small.... and I still wont say how many HOURS it took me to piece that border. But I shall continue on my piecing mission; one down, two to go; and yes, I WILL hang these by the weekend, even if I have to express mail them to Sandy in TX so she can finish piecing the freakin' borders, LOL!
Hope you're all having fun.... I'm sure trying! B=)
